I know I’ve been talking a lot about Kubrick lately, but being he’s my filmmaking idle, I am physically incapable of passing this up. Apparently, before Stan directed this and this and this, he was a poor Bronx boy who made a living as a street photographer. VandM has just made 25 of his nearly 10,000 snapshots of New York City life available for the first time, at $250 a pop. They’re pricey, but in my opinion totally worth it. That is, of course, coming from somebody who can’t afford them.
